Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Jorge & Andrea Hidalgo (Parents of Daren Hidalgo KIA 2-20-11) on June 29, 2011:

I cried when I heard the news that Dimitri had been Killed in Action. I was honored to have known Dimitri since he was very good friends with my son, 1LT Daren Hidalgo. It was a friendship that was formed in Cadet Field Training at Buckner and remained strong throughout their short lives. My wife and I both remember Dimitri as an outstanding cadet, superb officer and tremendous human being.

We extend our deepest condolences to Katie, the Pulliam and del Castillo families. I know that words will not lessen the great pain that the families are experiencing. We are heartbroken also, but take comfort in knowing that Dimitri was pursuing his passion and calling when God spoke his name. His very good friend Daren is welcoming him into heaven.

Dimitri, Katie and the del Castillo and Pulliam families remain in our daily thoughts and prayers. We mourn with you and offer our love and support so please feel free to contact us no matter what time of day or night. May God grant you peace during this time of sadness, and may you be blessed with the richness of happy memories of earlier days.

Dimitri, we thank you for your service and sacrifice. Be Thou at peace.
