Be Thou At Peace

Carlos, Catherine, Anna, Carlos Andres, and Katie:

How lucky we are to have known Dimitri! From the first grade, right up through high school graduation, the Mexico trip, West Point, Ranger training, and deployment; it has been a pleasure and honor to have been associated with such a fine young man. We always knew he would do great things in life and from reading the many notes written by classmates, fellow soldiers, rugby coaches, and friends, he was more than just the smiling, speedy, happy buddy of Kyle. He was truly the epitome of the American hero and I know you are very, very proud of his accomplishments -- as a soldier, student, athlete, husband, and man. It has been a privilege to have watched this great kid grow up and excel at the things that he truly loved. Having taken more than one paintball shot from him, I am sure happy that he was on our side and know that his men were also very lucky to have him on their team. What a joy to have known "Demeche" and to have been able to share many of your family events with him and all of the del Castillo and Filostrat families.

We feel fortunate to have had our lives touched by this exceptional young man. We will continue to keep his memory alive in Katy and elsewhere in the years to come. He will be missed by all of us and his service and sacrifice shall not go unnoticed or unappreciated. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, his wonderful family, as you push on in life, knowing that his sacrifice was not in vain. With sincere condolences from the bottom of our hearts.

All our love; Dave, Diana, Kyle, Kirsten & Derek.
