| Just wanted the Runkle Family to know that my son Mike Class of 2011 wears a hero bracelet in honor of John and I noticed it following Air Assault graduation at Fort Campbell in Sept 2011. Mike is in the 101 st Airborne like John was and he aspires to become a Ranger with airborne, air assault and pathfinder qualifications like John. Mike always looked up to John during their days at West Point when he led the Sandhurst team for Company E4 and my son served as an alternate and medic for the team. I even have some video from 2009 where my son describes how good John is as their Sandhurst team lead. In any case, I did not want time to slip by and forget to send you these thoughts. Warm regards from the Nilsen Family and please know John is still in the thoughts of many people he touched during his lifetime. |
