Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Adam Nordin on May 30, 2016:

Tim,

It's Memorial Day 2016. America is no longer fully committed to the Middle East, but things are far from settled.

Today was a beautiful day in Washington State. By all accounts the weather reports indicated that things should've been the opposite, but I'm positive a day like today should never be spent dreary or dark. Today we remember those who have come and gone, who took on our enemies head-on and made the final sacrifice in the name of America.

I'll never forget that day in May 2007 when I flipped you a coin for giving me my first salute. There was no other person better to be there on that day than you.

Tim, I'm thankful for the memories you left me. When all is lost, the most sacred things we have are our memories, and I'm proud that you are part of mine. I stand taller and gain strength from having known men like you, and our country is a better place because of your leadership and the life you lived.

Your burden has only begun, Tim. I know that you will continue to watch over us and keep us safe so that we can ensure the Stars and Stripes may forever be protected.

Rest well, Brother. You deserve it.

-Adam
