Todd William Lambka

West Point, 2010

Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Harry C. Bruner, Jr. on August 6, 2012:

It is with great sadness to see a fallen soldier knowing no words I can write can assuage your tragic loss and grief. May God comfort and give His divine peace to the extended Lamka family in this time of painful grieving.

As your precious son took care of his men, the West Point family gives your warrior and family a very slow hand salute. You son is walking with God, and he is resting in eternal peace with Him.

Thank you for raising such a son and warrior willing to answer the call of duty for the Nation, and making the ultimate sacrifice with his boots at the tip of spear while maintaining the honor of the Corps and Army untarnished and unsullied to the end.

"One hour of life, crowded to the full with glorious action and filled with noble risks, is worth whole years of those mean observances of paltry decorum." Sir Walter Scott

As I look at your son:

"They shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, not the years condemn.
As the going down of the sun and the morning
We will remember them....
To the end, to the end, they remain."
Lord Binyon, "For the Fallen" 1914

With deepest sympathy, I'll listen again to Gary Owen this evening, and raise one to your warrior and to all who have fallen.

Lt. Lambka, RIP, good and faithful servant.

We pray God that You will care for the Lambka family, our Nation and our Armed Forces.

Harry C. Bruner, Jr.
Parent of Army Infantry Officers - one has returned and the other to be deployed later this year. Fts. Benning and Drum.
