Named after his father, mother was Julia Lermond.

Born in Nahant, Massachusetts.

Died in a house fire near LaPlata, Maryland. He had rescued his two younger children and went back for a five year old son. Both died in the house that belonged to his wifes' father, Major William Henry Lloyd.

Was to report for duty at Fort Benning, Georgia on August 1st.

A distance runner at the point and member and track coach for the Olympic Pentathlon team in 1931.

Duty assigments axwell Field, Alabama; Fort Jay, New York; Fort Benning, Georgia; Tientsin, China, and his last duty station, Fort Lewis, Washington.

Infantry officer, promoted to 1st Lt on August 1, 1935 and Captain on June 12, 1940.

Buried at Arlington National Cemetery.
