(Citation Needed) - SYNOPSIS: Lieutenant Colonel (Infantry) Frederick James Simpson (ASN: 0-18256), United States Army, was awarded the Silver Star (Posthumously) for conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity in connection with military operations against the enemy as Commanding Officer, 701st Tank Battalion, 102d Infantry Division, during World War II.
