Be Thou At Peace
Posted by Simon R. Goerger on June 25, 2002:
Lisa,
My heart hangs heaving knowing you have passed from this world into the next, but I know that you are there looking down on us and cheering for each of us to succeed.
You were a major reason I was able to make the Rabble Rousers at the end of my yearling year. You took me under your wing and taught me numerous lessons. Stunts and cheers were merely the tools you used to teach me the greater lessons of life. You taught me how to watch out for and take care of your partner; how to express joy and enthusiasm even when you were in pain; how to take responsibility for your actions and do what was right even in the toughest of times. You helped to make me a leader of men! I wish I had been able to thank you while you were still with us. I hope you know how much you have meant to use all.
Thank you for the example you set, the lessons you taught me, and the friendship we shared. Your impact has reached not only me, but also the countless soldiers that have been under my care. I know your children will grow to be the inspiration you were and I hope one day to meet them and tell them in person what a wonderful person/cadet/friend there mother was.
God Bless you Lisa
