Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Megan Scanlon on January 16, 2004:

I last visited West Point in the Summer of 2002. I walked around post, feeling somewhat like a stranger at a place that I used to call home until I ran into Tiffany Burns on Diagonal Walk. I still remember the huge smile and huge hug she greeted me with. Tiff was working as a Captain in the Admissions office at the time and I remembered thinking how lucky the Academy was to have such a positive force involved in recruiting new cadets.
I have since thought a lot about that encounter with Tiffany for many reasons, including how special the bonds are that we formed at USMA. I believe these bonds transcend time and space, both in this world and beyond. I'm confident that we will again be greeted with Tiffany's smile someday.
I wish Tiffany's family peace at this difficult time.
