I may end up adding a couple of these but here is a funny one. So it is after graduation, mid-July and I am at Airborne School with my classmates Rob, Rans Black, Tand Thor Markwood. It is the weeknd and Rans invites us to his parnets for the weekend and water sking on Lake Lanier. Rans dad worked for Mercury Outboard motors and they had a 16' checkmate boat with a 250 HP engine. Fast! So Rob of course is a natural athlete and he and Rans are taking turns doing slalom, barefoot, and just hot dogging on the water skis. I had never skied before. So they get me in the water tell me to lean back, keep the ski tips up and hold on. THey "hit it" and I get up on the skis for a grand total of 100 yards or so they crash, but I hold on. And get dragged another hundred yards, inhaling a couple of gallons of lake water. Key safety tip, Hold on... UNTIL YOU FALL, then let go. Good times! Miss you Rob! |
