Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Johnny on November 30, 2005:

I know people mean well when they post eulogies up. At times, I read them and wonder if they really knew you. Do they really know what its like to know that people won't be able to see you. I'm so angry and sad that your gone. I just watched the media portray your story, and I was quite angry on the way they did it. However, I do give them credit for allowing your father to say what everyone needs to understand and spread the word. Drunk driving needs to be uncooled. It's not a joke anymore.

Enough is enough. Drunk driving is stupid and the person doing it is a potential case for manslaughter. I am so mad that a drunk took your life. I won't let it go easy. Maybe all of us should quit feeling sad and remember the good times we shared as well as the bad times to motivate us to do what mothers did back in the 80's. Friends, bar tenders, or total strangers need to kick the crap out of anyone who so chauvinistically thinks they can get behind the wheel when incapable to do so. All of this could have been prevented, but no one listens or cares until its a loved one that is the victim.

If anyone who reads this is offended, good. I'm so angry, sad, and frustrated I don't know what to do. I miss this kid. I remember the first day at Prep where I took him aside to teach him how to march. I remember the time when he was homesick and how we talked it over. I remember how he got mad that we wasted a day while in Amsterdam that when we did go it was closed. I remember walking hours with him because he stood by me when he didn't have to. That is the Tony Severo I know. A damn good man, and a the most loving person a guy could be proud to have known.

I miss ya Tony.
