Be Thou At Peace

| Notwithstanding the ongoing war between the cadets and the Tactical Department in the early '50s , Lieutenant General Rienzi (then Lieutenant Colonel) was known throughout the Corps as one of the good guys. I guess firm but fair would be an accurate description, but I remember him best as friendly to all comers; one of those officers that a young soldier or cadet would feel comfortable having a casual converstion with. And I recall meeting him down through the years during my Army career-always a warm smile and a few reminiscences of of shared esperiences. He was a soldier's soldier and a role model for all. |
