Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Lee Doyle SGM Retired on December 20, 2010:

I served in Vietnam at a place called Phu Tai when MG Rienzi was the Commander of the 1st Signal Brigade. When he came to visit he always welcomed me with opened arms to the site grabbing my hand in his big hand and patting me on the back. About 10 years later he came to Korea to visit and came to my unit 275th Sig Co and upon seeing me immediately knew my name and talked about old times. When I was the SGM in the 58th Sig Bn in Okinawa from 1900-1993
I used to go to the 1160th Sig Bde in Hawaii for various functions and would always run into LTG Rienze someplace. He would always recognize me and take the time to talk to me. He always welcomed you with open arms and never forgot you no matter if you were an officer or enlisted. I will never forget him. May God rest his blessed soul.
