I remember General Rienzi gallantly supporting the USMA Catholic Choir in New York's St. Patrick's Cathedral in the late '60s, sweeping into the church in dress blues with the brilliant orange silk lining of his general's cape blowing in the breeze. Two of my favorite "Long Tom" quotes: "Without commo, all you command is your desk" and my favorite: " You're not supposed to be 6' 6" as a general, so I tell people I'm 5' 18" God bless a great soldier and a fine man.
