Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Camille Richardson on February 12, 2008:

Twenty one years have gone by and up until today, I had never seen my father. To look upon him now and to see the same features in his face as in mine, is absolutely overwhelming. I truly wish I could have known him, to have befriended him and to have been a daughter to him. I've constantly wondered what kind of man he was and the life he had led, and have also wondered what he would think of me now that I've grown. My grandparents who I love dearly for adopting me and caring for me as their own, had always told me that he was a smart, scholarly man and to honor him by leading a virtuous life. I hope that I have done well by him and hope that maybe one day I will have the opportunity and welcome to meet his family and to do well by them too. May he rest in peace knowing that even his furthest children are thankful.
