Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Dale E. Hruby on May 15, 2014:

I have spent my life in the company of soldiers. Charles J. Simmons was the finest soldier I've ever known. He was THE role model for countless junior officers many of whom rose to the highest levels of leadership in the Army. In every aspect of his life -- commander, friend, counselor, leader, teacher, husband, father, grandfather, manager, mentor, warrior, scholar, neighbor, parishioner,-- he set the standard for us all. Those of us privileged to know him continue to live our lives asking "What would General Simmons do?"
