Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Walter Ruth on November 20, 2017:

I served with GENERAL DAVID in HEIDLEBERG,Germany in 1969 and until April 1970 as his driver. He then went to Wurzburg, Germany. I was asked to go with him but did not. I was not planning to stay in the Army and did not want to disappoint him. Shortly thereafter I went to Vietnam. I sometimes wondered that maybe I should have gone with him. I think he was the best military officer I have ever known. He was kind, fair and an outstanding individual. The kind of person we need more of today. I know he is in a place of peace and well deserved. Also I remember the time he took me to his house on Christmas for dinner and gave me gifts. I can't say enough about his caring of people. B.A.D. GOD BLESS YOU.
