Be Thou At Peace

Posted by John MOLCHAN on November 11, 2004:

As a Classmate of Jack's, we shared many memories. We discovered that on 7 December 1941, we were both quail hunting. I was on the Homestead in Campo California, and he was in Hawaii on Oahu and actually fired his shotgun at a Jap Zero which was on a strafing run during the attack. He was an annual attendee at Classmate Bob and Edie Kanes Annual Army Navy Football game. The only time we were ever able to connect for a fishing trip together, we both caught large fish and his was the biggest, a 20 pounder. I attended several Silicon Valley luncheons with Jack and he was most proud of his family affiliation with the "Long Grey Line."
