Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Cecil Haas on April 1, 2015:

As at first a co-worker and then a friend, I saw Colonel Bill in a lot of scenarios over 30 years. We hunted together, laughed together, worked together, and talked guns together. While our approach to things were sometimes quite different, we shared a common philosophy about the important things in life. Bill was a thinking man, and a thoughtful man. I saw Bill in multiple roles and scenarios, and if I were to describe him in a single sentence, it would be: "Bill was a man of quiet competence in all of his endeavors."

One thing that Bill disliked was wasting time. He got more done by noon than most of us do all day. He never engaged in the coffee pot conversations. He had a job to do and he did it - and went home to the most important person in his life, his wonderful wife.

Bill was loyal; to his family, to his friends, to his country, and to his moral obligations. Bill's life was a life well-lived.
