Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Tom Majchrowski on April 14, 2015:

Bill Liddicoet was like a second father to me. He and Dee took a fledgling 2nd Lt straight out of graduate school and his wife, Pat, under their wings and taught us what AF life was like and what it meant to be an officer in the AF.

While serving in the Civil Engineering Division at Kirtland AFB, I constantly kept Bill busy with my off-the-wall antics. He was patient and professional with me. What he taught me carried me through my 22-year AF career in good stead - honor, duty, and country, but also taking care of your family.

We enjoyed many fishing expeditions together and little family gatherings. Later, we kept in contact. I visited him and Dee in Albuquerque while on temporary duty at Kirtland AFB. Often Pat would join me. Bill and Dee provided a place to stay and good company during these visits.

He was a good friend, a willing mentor, and a great man.
