Be Thou At Peace

Charles Royal Lehner, Jr.
1926 2008
Father...Soldier...Protector

He was many things to many people.

The second of three siblings, "Buddy" took care of big sister Kay and little brother Larry (Sonny). While Charles, Sr., a career military man, served his country in distant lands, Buddy served his family. He held his sister's hand and walked her down the aisle on her wedding day.

"Col. Lehner" followed his father and namesake into service of his country. A lifelong soldier, he was graduated from the U.S. Military Academy, and dedicated his career and beyond to the United States Army.

Devoted husband and father, he is survived by children who know him lovingly as "Dad."

"Uncle Charles" to nieces and grandnieces, he is remembered as robust, self-confident, loving, caring, and ever the generous host.

"Storyteller" - a gift passed down from his father, he could share memories and stories or spin yarns to preserve family history and just entertain.

The last senior member of the Lehners, he leaves us all a rich legacy to uphold and carry on.

We'll miss you.
