John Franklin Forrest PLACE OF BIRTH: Texas John Forrest graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, Class of 1949. He retired as a U.S. Army Lieutenant General. Silver Star AWARDED FOR ACTIONS DURING Vietnam War Service: Army Rank: Colonel Division: 101st Airborne Division GENERAL ORDERS: United States Military Academy Register of Graduates CITATION: (Citation Needed) - SYNOPSIS: Colonel (Infantry) John Franklin Forrest, United States Army, was awarded a Second Bronze Oak Leaf Cluster in lieu of a Third Award of the Silver Star for conspicuous gallantry and intrepidity in action against the enemy while serving as a Battalion Commander, 101st Airborne Division, in the Republic of Vietnam, in 1967. |
