Jack Vincent Mackmull

West Point, 1950

Be Thou At Peace

Posted by LTC (USA-Ret) Dave Ling on April 15, 2011:

I have told countless General Jack Mackmull stories over the years. He was the ADC in the 101st when I had my company command. He commanded JFK Center when I went through SFOC and saw him again. When he had XVIII Abn Corps, I was the Aerial Delivery (Parachute) Officer and spent numerous hours in his office discussing "parachute stuff" as he used to call it. After I retired and was working for South-Tek International (the Type V platform guys), I met him at some trade show at which he was speaking. He spent well over two hours reminiscing with me about our mutual experiences. After the first time I met him at Fort Campbell, he remembered me by name every time we met over the years. If you knew LTG Mackmull, nothing I say could capture his positive influence on all with whom he had contact. If you didn't have the honor to serve with him, just do some google and learn a little about this American hero.
