| General Meloy was my boss as the 1st Brigade Commander, 82nd Airborne Division, during 1974-76. What always impressed me about Gen Meloy, is that he always treated soldiers with the highest respect. After I retired from the Army in 1993, Gen Meloy made a point to track me down, and wrote to me monthly, about his experiences throughout his career, especially all the memories he had of the times we were together at Fort Bragg in the 82nd Airborne Division. We eventually began to exchange emails, and when they stopped coming, I knew something was wrong. General Meloy, may you rest in Peace. |
