I had the distinct pleasure of serving under then LTC Bard during my tour with the 101st Airborne Division (Airmobile) in Vietnam from 1970 to 1971. I remember him as a great leader of men, and for his pleasant, I care about you attitude. Always had a smile on his face and kind encouraging word.
