Though it?s in my memorial article, I wanted to share this while we?re all still here. It, and the tragic circumstances of his demise, are why I traveled to West Point for John Bard?s funeral services, and to visit with his family. As a plebe, I?d had a year of preparation at NYMA and was highly ranked militarily. By my senior year, for whatever reasons, I was an indifferent jerk. John Bard and John Ballantyne sat me down, Dutch-uncled me, and set me straight. They might very well have salvaged my future and I am forever grateful for that. Bye, John. Luv ya ! |
