Jose Leroy Chacon

West Point, 1954

Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Colonel Samuel T. Dickens USAF (Ret..) on March 6, 2006:

While a first classman at West Point and Leroy's brother Andy Chacon's roommate I well remember being with Leroy during his plebe year on several occasions. I still have a great photograph of the Chacon brothers which I took of them at Trophy Point. I was very proud of the Chacon brothers who were committed to West Point and the United States. While Andy served in WWII as a turret gunner on TBM Avenger aircraft in combat and in Korea in B-26s, Leroy served two combat tours of duty in Vietnam. I mourn the loss of Leroy to his family, West Point, the U.S. Army and the citizenry of San Antonio. God bless you Leroy.
