Be Thou At Peace
Posted by Dan Ludwig on August 30, 2009:
Bob Soper was a classmate whose traits left impressions upon those of us in company M-1 that we cannot forget. A jovial attitude fit well with his outgoing character as he liked to try things to beat the regimental system. Having never been assigned to the same stairwell, I did not know Bob as closely as those who roomed with him; however I was able to appreciate that he was very intelligent and possessed the aptitude for success as an Army officer. Although we both served careers in the Army, our paths never crossed after graduation. Thanks to our Class Notes and reunion information, I was pleased to follow his success on active duty as an armor and quartermaster officer and later his civilian career with oil companies in Saudi Arabia. I regret that during his last few years, Bob suffered significantly from acute medical problems that detracted appreciably from his ability to enjoy retirement. Be thou at peace, Bob. Dan Ludwig
