Preston Brooks Mayson

West Point, 1955

Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Daniel Dugan on April 3, 2009:

Preston, you were the quintessential high achiever of the Class of 1955 - so many careers! Soldier, Doctor, Lawyer, Artist. A very impressive resume' for anyone. You have left a large void in the Class and we will always remember you.
In our exchange of e-mails last year, don't forget that I forgave you for "snatching victory out of the jaws of defeat." I refer to Intramural swimming when E-1 had the Regimental title and we only had to defeat L-2. You aced me out in the freestyle race and our hopes of a Brigade Championship were dashed. But, the simple fact is that you were a faster swimmer! Rest in peace, Classmate of so many talents - you are already missed.
