Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Paul Parks on October 29, 2009:

I first got to know Kelly during the period 1964-1967. That was a pre-tailgate time when Kelly would toss links of sausage to the 55 section at football games. He regaled us at a gathering at Camp Buckner with an eye patch!!. All know of Kelly's generosity. He became a hero to the Parks family in a different way. At the 30th reunion, he lifted Bobbie from her wheelchair and danced. This was repeated at the Colorado Springs mini and again at the 40th. This meant so very much to Bobbie and me. West Point, our class and the Parks family have suffered a great loss with the passing of this generous, compassionate, positive Mensch! A real doer! We love you and will miss you. I imagine Kelly and Bobbie having a dance, waiting for the rest of us. Rest in peace, Kelly.
Well done!
