Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Phil Erdle on August 28, 2009:

Stan was the Deputy Department Head of Engineering Mechanics At the U.S. Air Force Academy, after serving in all preceding academic ranks with great distinction---thus earning his Professorial Rank. Succinctly stated, Stan was a natural teacher. His personal mark was his uncanny knack for making difficult theories easy to understand. His professional accomplishments included the important (but unheralded) creation of the International Science and Engineering Exchange. Stan was directly responsible for incubating multiple engineering departments around the world---including his signal success in his annual lectures in Spanish at several Universities in Mexico.

But Stan's greatest hallmarks of human achievement lay in his identity as a marvelous husband and father, fabulous loyal friend and an unblemished character reflecting traits long revered, beginning in his cadet days.

Stan Harvill was a thoroughly decent human being. The best good-bye that can make Stan smile when he reads this brief homily is; VIA CON DIOS, STAN! You have walked that ethical path, for a lifetime!!! VIA CON DIOS.
