Don was my hero plebe year in A2...not only had he completed two years at the Naval Academy, but he was a former 82d Abn trooper wth Jump wings! In those days there weren't many cadets walking around with Jump wings pinned proudly on their chests. Don was one of a few. As the years passed, I came to know Don as one of the finest human beings I had ever met. His determination to get into USMA and graduate was awe inspiring..despite a medical turnback, Don persisted and graduated in 1955. Rest easy, my friend....You fought the good fight . Tom |
