Our friendship goes back more than 62 years when we both reported to The Army West Point Preparatory school at Stewart Field New York. I remember Larry enlisted in the Army and immediately started Prep School without first going to Basic Training. I can still remember Larry telling me that his Basic Training consisted of the 1802d First Sargent teaching him how to Stand at attention and salute etc. Our friendship has continued here in Raleigh for the past 22 Years. He will be missed at our Raleigh area monthly lunches. Larry had both a strong Military and Civilian career. He held many leadership positions in his church, military and civic organizations. Larry always lived out our West Point Code of DUTY, HONOR, COUNTRY. Rest in peace my good friend and Classmate. Bill Burrus |
