Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Jim Darrah on August 12, 2017:

Tom was my oldest very best friend. Classmate, roommate, confidante, comrade in arms; we hit it off in 1951 and never lost track of one another. Among Tom's passions in life were skeet and trap shooting, golf, photography and cars. Whatever else there was, including West Point academics, was definitely in second place at least. Tom loved family and friends in a deep and abiding way. His Christmas letters were always full of news of his family and classmates as well as his escapades on the golf course or race track. One thing that always endeared Tom with me personally was that he never placed himself above others. With Tom it was "what you see is what you get." No pretense, no displays of ego; just Tom. A sincere, dedicated soldier and patriot, son, brother, husband, father, classmate and dear friend; Tom will be missed greatly and by many. Well done. Be thou at peace.
