Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Jack Schannep on November 30, 2005:

Jack and Ali were dear friends of Helen and mine. We reunited with them at the Air Force Academy golf outing when our fellow companymate (F-1) Charlie Hamm was in charge. Over the years we have visited with them (and played golf) at their home in Albuquerque and at our summer place in Pinetop Arizona (and played golf). If you're a golfer you will appreciate why the former "Alice" is now known as "Ali". They were great fun to be with and even this last summer when Jack needed to communicate with the use of his 'speaking machine' he NEVER lost his sense of humor and ready laugh. What a guy - we will REALLY miss him. Albuquerque will never be the same although I am sure Ali will make up for the two of them and always be ready to join in a game of golf. At the recent '56 Golf Outing in Tucson 70 classmates and wives remembered Jack as we recited the Cadet Prayer in unison. May God bless Jack Kamm.
