Jim and my late night discussions about life, our faiths (his Catholic and mine United Methodist) and our families while we were roomates in Korea have been important to me beyond my ability to express. Over almost 20 years of sometimes daily, sometimes occasional , contact between Jim and me and his family and mine Jim steadily evolved in my eyes and heart from a really nice guy with a brilliant mind, who was a great help in graduate school, to a truly wise man who was a model father and husband -- a person I hope my sons are becoming, one who had become a most important part of my life, one whom I love.
