Donato, It has been over 18 years since you lost your battle with cancer. I can still recall quite vividly our last meeting at your quarters in Ft. Monroe. You had just retired the day before. The hug and tears still bring mists to my eyes. When you called me in Oregon a few days before you left us I couldn't find any words to say other than "farewell, Old Friend". You introduced me to my precious Ruth, and served as Best Man at our wedding. Before then we had many adventures as cadets and junior officers, as we seemed to follow each other for several years after graduation. Your parents were like second parents for me. We miss you but know that some day we'll be together again. Rest in peace. Chuck |
