| Tom and I were on the West Point Boxing Team from our Plebe Year to when Intercolligiate Boxing was eliminated during our Firstie Year from 1955 to 1956. Tom was a tough lightweight who always went into the ring looking for a quick knockout or at least a victory. He had a smile or perhaps a smirk he picked up during our Beast Barracks indoctrination which attested to his sense of good humor. The latter was helpful before a fighting match to relieve our tenseness prior to entering the ring. He was well liked by our late coach Herb Kroeten. |
