Be Thou At Peace
Posted by Kim Day (Bill's Daughter) on February 19, 2009:
My Dad left us an unfinished manuscript of his life memories, and many of them are of West Point. I don't know how many of you will view this, or even wish to respond, but I would love to know if anyone can fill in the missing memories for those of us he left behind....
They are mainly just words, which he wrote as notes to himself.....and may not have any meaning to anyone but himself, but on the off chance that someone else is willing to share.
West Point: Beast Barracks the hops Newburgh Ferry Barth tubs weapons room Plebe Hike Buckner Russian Mr. Maltzoff Army/Navy Games in Philly Parades in NY and DC summer trips GA and Roger Blunt Late assignment walking the area jets Wisconsin big boom passing out at parades on plain football games remember Duke in NYC cleaning the bore SAMI mess hall plebe duties big dick ice cream falling out 7/4/52 football scandel playing football Earle Blake Green Bay coach
We all would appreciate if any of you can elaborate on any of these memories that you might share with Dad.
Blessings to you all, Kim Day for Joan and the Johansen family
