Be Thou At Peace
Posted by Robert L Hull on April 5, 2005:
Bob Sullivan and I were companymates (Co B-1) and classmates (1956). After graduation our paths went in different directions, and I missed seeing Bob for quite awhile. Although I didn't realize it at the time, he and I were assigned to the Washington, DC area at about the same time (1969). In early 1970 I began work at night on a Master's Degree from George Washington University. The degree program was in public personnel management, and one of the required core courses was a difficult (for me) one involving advanced mathematics and statistics. I wasn't looking forward to taking the course, but when I walked in the first night of classes, I found Bob Sullivan was my teacher! He was an outstanding teacher, patient with the majority of us who had not taken serious math courses in many years. He knew his subject perfectly, organized and conducted his classes to accommodate the range of abilities in the class, and met the needs of us all. I thoroughly enjoyed the class, and I learned a lot more than I ever expected to. And I earned (or was given) an "A" in the course.
