I got to know Don well on the Brigade Staff our firstie year. Very nice man, mature, low key and modest, easy to be around. Then when he branched Air Force our paths diverged for many years, next intersecting when we both retired in the Washington area. Don went into the travel business, and was superb at it. Ginny and I were lucky enough to have him as our travel agent, and benefitted greatly. Don's biggest triumph on our behalf was the year he got us dinner reservations at the Jules Verne Restaurant in the Eiffel Tower on Bastille Day. From that lofty venue we watched the fireworks over Paris (and toasted Don repeatedly). Knowing Don enriched our lives. May he rest in peace. Bob Sorley |
