Be Thou At Peace

I am John Hughes Stevenson's step-daughter. He became my father when he married my mother Karen P. Stevenson. They were married 30 years when Dad passed away, so West Point was a part of my life too. He talked about it all the time. We visited here and there over the years. I remember it, as a child, as being this HUGE place with a lot of people dressed alike. But I knew that every time my dad went there he held his head a little higher, and walked a little prouder. I attended my fathers service at the Old Cadet Chapel this past Thursday. I was touched. It was a lovely service full of honor and tradition. Dad would have been very pleased! Thank you West Point. |
