Be Thou At Peace

Posted by John C. "Doc" Bahnsen on October 4, 2004:

Charlie Prather was one of the most genuine people I have ever known. Ask a question, or ask for a comment, and Charlie was up front, totally honest in all his comments. I will not forget our many candid conversations over the years on some great topics, especially the Army and the people leading our Army. He was an extraordinary soldier and outstanding leader who loved the Army and the soldiers in the Army.
I have never known a warmer host than Charlie,, He and Ann fed me, and whoever was with me, at almost every place they were assigned. I could never repay the hospitality shown me by this very generous man and his devoted companion, Ann.
Generous, caring, warm, absolutely reliable, blessed with a great, dry sense of humor,,,Charlie is missed. He had some tough years health wise, but I never heard a complaint. He was a tough, complete soldier who played the hand he was dealt with class. Rest in peace----Doc
