WILBUR MANLY SKIDMORE II
Wilbur Manly Skidmore II, 73, of Madison died Thursday, April 13, 2006, at his residence.
Born August 2, 1932, in Honolulu Hawaii, he was the son of the late Wilbur Manley Skidmore and Eleanor Gertrude Shelby Skidmore.
Mr. Skidmore was a retired United States Army Colonel. He was a member of SAR; Linn Banks Lodge, Madison, Acacia Lodge, Clifton, Virginia; Hancock Lodge, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas; Kena Shrine, Fairfax, Virginia, Scottish Ridge, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, Royal Arch, Fauquier County, Virginia, Knights Temple, Manassas, Virginia, VFW, National Level, American Legion National Level and member of the Piedmont Episcopal Church in Madison.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Steele Skidmore of Madison; two daughters, Catherine Ann Polmateer and her husband, Thomas Leon of Madison, Mary Jane Skidmore and her husband Moulydriss Aloumouati of Haymarket; one son, William Reece Skidmore and his wife, Patricia Ann of Katy, Texas; five grandchildren, Samuel James Skidmore, Emily Faith Skidmore, Sarah Ann Aloumouati, Hannah Radia Aloumouati and Yasmeen Rachel Aloumouati; and one step granddaughter, Jenee Leanne Rhyne.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 19, 2006, at the Piedmont Episcopal Church in Madison conducted by the Rev. Brad Jackson.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Madison County Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 868, Madison, VA 22727; or Hospice of the Piedmont, 2200 Old Ivy Road, Suite 200, Charlottesville, VA 22903.
