Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Butch Rachal on July 11, 2011:

I haven't known Don and Bobbie very long. We met last year as refugees in London, having been stranded there by the Iceland volcano on our way to South Africa. We traveled together again later that summer on the Danube and Rhine Rivers and again this year in China. Lynne and I loved being with Don and Bobbie.

One thing I learned about Don was his humility. He didn't wear his patriotism or service on his sleeve. You had to get to know him a bit to learn about his service in the special forces. As a Viet Nam draft evader I was in awe of his service and amazed at his acceptance of me without judgement.

Bobbie (BFG), we'll be traveling together again. I promise.
