Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Jeff & Pat Wright on July 11, 2011:

We've been privileged to have Don and Bobbie as neighbors and friends here in our small retirement community in South Carolina. Never knew Don on active duty (it's a big Army and we did different things), but I know I would have enjoyed serving with him. Don was a man of unquestioned character; he was forthright and honest in every respect and his integrity was ever apparent. He embodied the virtues of a U.S. Army officer and he also had a noteworthy career in the Army.

Don was also a fun-loving and relaxed individual; he made everyone feel comfortable and welcome in his presence. He was good with repartee and he had an unforgettable laugh that made all around him just feel better. Don was also highly conversant with military issues and other affairs of the day; it was always a pleasure being in his company.

Bobbie and Don were perfect together and we're keenly aware of the magnitude of her loss. Bobbie has been a great friend to us; she is now in our thoughts and prayers. We are always here for Bobbie.

We've lost another good one. We will miss Colonel Don Barlow very, very much. We salute him.
