Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Susan Bobo on July 12, 2011:

I met Col. and Mrs Barlow some 25 years ago when Karen and I were at N.C. State. I had the pleasure of getting to know Col. Barlow as Karen would visit her parents on Leslie Drive over the years. I remember that he always had such a warm welcome whenever I would visit. I remember his hearty and easy laugh and how he always was genuinely interested in how I was doing. I remember how he loved to work in his yard and how it was always so beautiful and cared for. I remember when the Barlow's hosted my bridal shower and how they made it so special for me.

Karen has been one of my best friends throughout the past 25 plus years. My heart goes out to her and her family as they miss their wonderful Father, Husband, Grandfather and Friend. My prayer for them is that God will grant them his peace and comfort at this sorrowful time and give them solace in knowing that Col. Barlow is enjoying his eternal reward in Heaven.

Godspeed, Colonel Don Barlow... you left an indelible mark on all of us and you will be missed...

" I have competed well; I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. From now on the crown of righteousness awaits me which the Lord will award me on that day."
2 Timothy 4:6-8

With love and heartfelt condolences,
Susan, Don and Luke Bobo
