Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Pamela Riggins on November 2, 2016:

I send my condolences to the Barlow family. This evening, while on the LinkedIn site, I saw a young man's name appear as Barlow. Immediately, I thought of Colonel Barlow. Then I searched and learned that he had passed away. I read his son's tribute, which caused tears to flow from my eyes. My heart is saddened. I met Colonel Barlow at Fort Benjamin Harrison Indiana, when I served as 2Lt Riggins in the School Secretary Office in 1984. As the Assistant Commandant, Colonel Barlow selected me to serve as the military sponsor for a Thai officer. He told me that I was an ambassador for my country. He had confidence in me. I will remember his beautiful smile, kindness and strength. He touched my life in the most positive way by his humility and his exceptional leadership! I salute a great American Hero!

Sincerely,

Captain Pamela Riggins
U.S. Army Veteran
