Be Thou At Peace

Posted by john herren on April 10, 2007:

Mike-Fred, I always thought you should be an actor with your sense of humor, your country singing and general outlook on life. But you chose the Army and I know you struggled through West Point, escaping TACs by climbing out windows in one 50th division to another, and pulling off some other escapades of note. This trend continued on throughout your successful Army careeer that always brought laughter to all of us, particularly when you told the story. Sally and I were fortunate to have dinner you, Pamela, and Barry Zwick in Santa Barbara over the past three years and even in January of 2007, you could still tell a story and captivate your audience. One of your great accomplishments after you left the Army was to help get a War Memorial path built on the hills overlooking Santa Barbara. So I salute you as a classmate, Army comrade and good friend. May you rest in peace.
