Be Thou At Peace

Posted by Lee Fay on April 22, 2007:

Dear Margaret:

Our hearts are sad with the loss of your father. Fred was a special member of our company G-2 at West Point. I roomed with him and Jim McCauley during Yearling (sophomore) year. Fred's spirit, humor and warmth permeated everything he did. Sometimes he was one-step ahead of the tactical and academic departments, but he always came through.

Fred was an usher and sword bearer at our wedding three days after graduation, June 7, 1958. He brought a lively spirit and fun to both the bachelor party and wedding reception. We had a great sing-a-long with him during that time. Both Marion and I have fond memories of him.

We live in Alexandria, Virginia and will be attending the service at Newport News.

The best of luck with the birth of your twins.

Warmly,

Lee and Marion Fay
